Colin Self trained a the Slade School of Art and under the encouragement of David Hockney and Peter Blake, he became one of the leading political pop artists of his generation.  Much of his work is concerned with nuclear war, the politics of the Cold War and disarmament.  The Tate Gallery hold a significant tranche of this work and the pop artist ,- Richard Hamilton, singled him out as one of the best draughtsmen of his generation.

Colin Self has a strong sense of the absurd in life and often turns his skills to mixed media and installations  with panache
