A painter and lithographer, Ethel Gabain was born in Le Havre and studied at the Slade, the Central School of Arts and Crafts, and in Paris. She married the English artist, John Copley in 1913 and exhibited a large amount of figurative painting and her famous lithographs during the 20's and 30's. Works are now held by the Tate and the Imperial War Museum. |
