Born in Cambridgeshire, George Tuckwell studied under Kenneth Martin at the Sir John Cass School of Art (1947-51), then at Goldsmiths College (1951-2). An extremely able artist in oil, watercolour, an illustrator, sculptor and teacher, Tuckwell has a sustained exhibition record through the RBA, RSW, ROI, Picadilly Galleries and Gimpel Fils. His work is held in public collections in the Ashmolean, Oxford, London and Cambridge Universities and overseas. |
